Sprinkler Repair Pricing in Spring Hill: Published, Not Hidden

What sets the price inside each range

How many parts actually failed. A single geysering head is the cheapest kind of call there is. A zone where three heads sank below grade over the same summer, or a valve box with two failed valves instead of one, costs more because more parts need replacing, not because the diagnostic itself got harder.

Whether the valve box is flooded. A valve box full of standing water has to be pumped out or drained before anyone can see the valve, let alone fix it. That adds time to an otherwise ordinary valve repair.

Age and availability of the controller. A controller old enough that its exact replacement part is discontinued sometimes means a full unit swap rather than a component fix, which moves the job from the low end of the controller range to the high end, or into full replacement.

How the system was mapped, or wasn’t. A house where the previous owner left a zone map taped inside the controller door is a faster diagnostic than a system nobody has documented in twenty years. Undocumented systems more often need a fuller inspection before the actual repair can even be scoped.

Depth and location of a line break. A lateral line crack near the surface under a flower bed is a quick dig. A mainline break under a driveway, a walkway, or deep under turf costs more in labor even though the pipe repair itself is identical.

Whether the job is really a repair. A yard with no functioning system at all, or a layout so outdated that patching individual zones will not solve dry patches across the property, is closer to a small new-installation job than a repair. These ranges are grounded in two independently published cost guides for sprinkler system repair, HomeGuide and Angi, both of which put a general sprinkler repair between $100 and $400, sprinkler head replacement between $130 and $275 per head, valve replacement between $70 and $300, and controller repair or replacement between $300 and $900. Our published ranges sit inside or close to that same territory; where ours run a little lower on parts like heads, it reflects Hernando County’s competitive local labor market rather than a different scope of work.

The rule that adds to every quote right now

Hernando County is under a Southwest Florida Water Management District Modified Phase III water shortage order, extended through March 31, 2027, limiting each address to one watering day a week on a schedule set by the last digit of the street number. Setting your controller to the current schedule is included in every visit at no extra charge, because a repaired system running on the wrong day is not actually fixed. What is not covered here

Well pumps. Hernando County Utilities has prohibited new residential irrigation-only meters since February 17, 2004, so a large share of local systems irrigate from a private well rather than the county line. A well pump, pressure tank, or well-side pressure switch is a different trade from the irrigation system downstream of it, and is not on this price list. If diagnosis points at the well side, we will tell you plainly and point you toward a well contractor.

New system design and installation. A property with no irrigation at all, or one that needs a full redesign rather than a patch, is priced separately once the scope is understood; ask when you call.
